week 2

This week we worked on a pattern called diagonal stripe. We also looked at what happens when the weft thread switches with a warp thread mid-row in the vertical stripe pattern.

The technique to switch the weft thread is an important one for patterns yet to be explored in subsequent classes.
Here are extra materials that you will find useful. Feel free to download and print so you have them accessible for class.

Carol acknowledges that we are on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional gathering place of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene people and the traditional homeland of the Métis people. Carol also acknowledges that sprang is part of many  indigenous traditions  and found in various forms all over the world. Let us re-discover this technique together.
