The SprangLady Subscription-2021- Exploring structures
Welcome to the SprangLady Subscribers Information Site.
The exploration for the year 2021 was "advanced sampling".
You will find twelve months of documents here containing instructions for the structure-of-the-month. Many months also contain instructional videos. Together these introduce you to many of the structures that lend themselves to the method of working that is sprang, instructions that follow after you've mastered the basic interlinking stitch.
The idea was to take you through the exercise of making samples. Each month we offer instructions for a different structure for you to sample. You are then invited to use those samples to calculate number of stitches and length of warp required for a neckscarf. If a neckscarf isnot your thing, then you could use these samples to make a hat or pair of fingerless mittens .... sprang has lots of options.
I look forward to sharing information with you, and accompanying you in your explorations of sprang. I will be available for a monthy sprang chat via Zoom, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. We host a monthly Zoom chat with others who are also following the subscription series. These chats have proven to be a fascinating and open sharing among people all seriously exploring sprang.
For 2021, each month we offered a different sprang stitch, and invite you to evaluate it in order to make a neckscarf (or hat or pair of fingerless mittens).

January: interlacing, over one, under one
February: interlacing, over two, under two, horizontal ribs
March: basic interlinking
April: Over 3 interlinking
May: Ropes aka Full Twists
June: Transpositions - Twists
July: Doubles Grid
August: 2-2 Interlacing, Vertical ribs
September: Interrupted Twill
October: Patterns in S&Z
November: Twining
December: Intertwining
For those of you who missed signing up in 2021, this is not a problem. You will receive all 12 months' worth of patterns all at once, and will be added to the list of people invited to the monthly Zoom chat. The monthly Zoom chat, is arranged at different times of the day on a rotating cycle, to accommodate members in diverse time zones. Once subscribed to a SprangLady subscription, you will continue to be invited to the monthly Zoom chat until such a time as you request to be removed from the list.
