Once you know how to work doubles, a whole world of patterns opens to you. You will be able to work all the motifs in Carol's new book of 77 Lace Patterns inspired by Dutch Sashes.

We will work through an exercise to map out a sprang lace pattern starting with a photograph. For this exercise, you will want graph paper, pencil, eraser, and colored pencils. Carol will use blue, green, and orange.
We will choose one of the two pieces pictured below, and together we will work to create the chart. |
