Vesterheim Museum 80.112.1
Inspiration for this month's motifs come from the collection at  Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, Iowa. I had the donor of teaching there in the spring of 2018. The curator pulled out sprang pieces from their collection so the class could inspect.

Lace stitches you need to know for this month's patterns include the plain interlinking stitch, right-edge and left-edge stitches, as well as the double stitch.

Carol acknowledges that we are on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional gathering place of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene people and the traditional homeland of the Métis people. Carol also acknowledges that sprang is part of many  indigenous traditions  and found in various forms all over the world. Let us re-discover this technique together.
