3rd Class
The third class happened on Saturday, February 8.
We talked about the finishing technique "chain across", as well as a way to shrink that first row of loops.
We then set up a 2-colored warp.
Find the recording at the right.

The optional finishing technique this week is a very traditional one, called "chain across".

Last week we set on a warp using only one color of yarn. How about using two colors of thread?
We will set up a warp using two colors of yarn.

Now that you know how to add color to your warp, here is information that will help you create designs with contrasting colored threads.
We will go through the instructions to set up this 2-colored warp, minimizing the number of knots to be tied.
We will then work through the instructions to shift between a variety of colored patterns.

Extra Credit Candy-Stripe Hat

Here are the instructions for a candy-stripe hat. I wrote the pattern several years ago, featuring Red Heart acrylic yarn (left-over stash from teaching grade school students).

Extra-Extra Credit

You might try applying the rules from the full-twist color play to the above candy stripe hat pattern, and come up with your own designs.
COTIR
This is a video that shows you how to get rid of those extra long loops at the top of your cloth. The technique is called "cancel out the initial row"  or "cancel out the extra twists" (I have trouble remembering the exact wording).
I call the technique COTIR.

False Circular Warp
This is a nifty technique to set up a warp that is twice the length of your frame.
