This is a note-sheet that I prepared for classes I've taught in person. I don't expect it to make sense ahead of class, but hope it will be helpful information after the first class.

These are instructions I prepared for the frame you will be receiving by mail. It is the "owner's manual" to be included with each sprang frame shipped by the frame-makers. Again, I do not expect it to make sense before class, but hope it will be useful after we talk about warping.

Here is a sample cheat card that many students find helpful

Definition of terms
Weavers may already be aware of these terms. Apparently "normal" English words, you might think their use a bit odd ... so I define them here.
Warp: a set of threads that will become the cloth
Cross: the one-up-one-down arrangement of threads, intended to maintain order among the threads
Front threads: the threads held in your hand
Back threads: threads not in your hand, dangling at the back of the work
Shed: the space between front threads and back threads
