Intro to Sprang Lace in collaboration with the California Lace Museum (3 part) -April 2023
Carol in collaboration with the California Lace Museum will be presenting her 3 part Sprang Lace class through zoom.

This is an intermediate level class. Carol will expect that you already know
-how to set up your frame
-how to work the interlinking stitch, the initial row, the plait row and overplait row,
-some ideas about finishing your piece of sprang.
This class will focus on making holes in the cloth with the use of the right and left edge stitch. We will explore some other lace stitches including the double stitch, the rope stitch, and the "un-worked thread" stitch. Carol will help you to read her pattern notations for each of these stitches. There will be exercises designed to help you derive a pattern from a photo of sprang, and show you ways to create your own patterns.
