Finger weaving class - November - December 2025
Finger weaving class registration form. The deadline to register for this class will be October 15, 2025. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to begin the registration process.
In this online zoom class students will learn the basics of finger weaving starting with a simple friendship bracelet, and progressing through diverse patterns found in several French-Canadian and Métis finger woven sashes. The technique is great for those who want a low-tech, easily transportable method to create a dense, warp-faced structure, suitable for bags, belts, neckscarves, and straps.
The online zoom classes will take place from 6 PM to 8 PM starting (central time in north America), Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and will run for six weeks until December 9, 2024. Students will be mailed a starter kit which will contain two already-set-up starter pieces, as well as all materials necessary for the first two classes. Students will need to provide yarn for the subsequent next set of projects. Also included in the starter kit, students will receive a copy of Carol James's book Fingerweaving Untangled as well as her fingerweaving DVD Fingerweaving Instructions. In addition students will have access to a webpage with extra support materials. Each zoom class will be recorded and posted to this webpage for the students to review as many times as they wish. Students will have access to this page for a month after the end of class.
This class will be taught by Carol's daughter, Claire Sparling.
