This month we consider combinations of intertwining and 1-1 interlacing.

The first example features diamonds of intertwining on a background of 1-1 interlacing

To review, create interlacing by working one row of Z-leaning stitches, and the next row of S-leaning stitches.

It is also possible to use the intertwining as the background and work diamonds in interlacing.
It is an interesting surface design. I like it in the solid color, but perhaps the structure is better visible with carefully placed contrasting colored threads
